Nestoil Group Champions Awareness on Mental Health Day.

In commemoration of World Mental Health Day, Nestoil Group organized an event designed to guide employees on building emotional resilience in today’s Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) environment. The event, aimed at promoting mental well-being, featured a keynote address, a panel discussion, and a mindfulness session—all tailored to equip employees with tools to effectively manage their mental health.

Dr. Tunji Odebiyi, a clinical psychologist and employee assistance program specialist, delivered the keynote address on the topic “Emotional Resilience in Hard Times.”
He discussed the various stressors that can affect mental health in a fast-paced workplace, such as job insecurity and high workloads.
Dr Odebiyi offered attendees strategies to build emotional strength and manage daily stressors both personally and professionally. He emphasized the importance of resilience, concluding with the powerful message, “things don’t get better; we only get stronger.”

Following the keynote, a panel discussion was held, featuring Dr. Odebiyi alongside Toluse Francis, a Life Coach, and Ms. Kris Oziofu Ekuafeh-Ero, a Holistic Empowerment Coach.
The panel tackled the theme ‘Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace’ and covered critical topics like the impact of mental health on employee productivity, recognizing the early signs of mental health decline, and the importance of self-care. The panelists offered practical advice on fostering a supportive workplace culture where mental health is prioritized.

To close out the day’s activities, Dr. Odebiyi led a mindfulness session where participants practiced stretching and breathing exercises, emphasizing the role of mindfulness in managing stress. Employees learned techniques to promote positive thinking and balance in their day-to-day activities.

Dr. Ngozi Ogbunude, one of Nestoil’s medical doctors, emphasized that Nestoil Group remains committed to prioritizing employee mental health. “Through events like these, the organization aims to create an open dialogue about mental health challenges and promote a culture of support among employees”, she asserted.
