Procurement Officer

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring quality goods and services at the most competitive prices in line with company policies and industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of the oil & gas service industry, excellent supplier relationship management, and strict adherence to compliance, safety, and HSE standards.

As a Procurement Officer, your responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies, HSE requirements, and local content laws.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotations, prepare bid analyses, and recommend preferred suppliers. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers. 
  • Maintain and update an approved vendor list in compliance with industry regulations (NIPEX, NAPIMS, etc.). 
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, timely delivery, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. 
  • Prepare, review, and administer procurement contracts and purchase orders. 
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB) guidelines, and other relevant laws. 
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure proper documentation for audits and reporting. 
  • Work closely with the legal and finance teams to ensure risk mitigation and compliance. 
  • Monitor procurement budgets and ensure cost savings without compromising quality. 
  • Provide regular reports on procurement activities, cost analysis, and supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, projects, and HSE teams to understand requirements and specifications. 
  • Support logistics and inventory teams in ensuring timely delivery and stock management

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in procurement/ supply chain in oil & gas.
  • Proven experience in vendor sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Professional certification (CIPS, ISM, NIProc, or equivalent) is an advantage.
